KHSAA Updates

See below for message on Thursday, April 30th

As noted in a prior correspondence, we want to take this opportunity to provide an update on KHSAA policies as it pertains to eligible high school student athletes. Please see the link below.

As we look forward to the remainder of the summer, we are hopeful to begin our tournament schedule as soon as it is safe to do so and permitted under guidelines from the Governor's Office. We will continue to keep you informed on updates to the tournament schedule and look forward to seeing you on the golf course!

Until then, we wish continued health for you and your family! Please be safe and practice safety recommendations when visiting the golf course.

Dear Kentucky Golf Family:

First and foremost, I hope this finds you and your family safe and healthy! Fortunately, we have had a run of nice weather recently, allowing everyone to spend some time outside! We appreciate all you are doing to follow the CDC guidelines and social distancing standards, especially as you spend time on the golf course.

I wanted to take a moment and address some concerns many of you have expressed the last day or two. As many of you are aware, the KHSAA announced a policy regarding eligible high school student athletes and their ability to participate in sports and in-person individual instruction/lessons. As soon as we learned of this announcement, we opened lines of communication with the Commissioner of the KHSAA to discuss the impact this would have on the landscape of golf in Kentucky. While I do not have any official updates from the Commissioner at this time, I am hopeful our communication lines will enable student athletes and their family an opportunity to return to golf soon, in a safe and healthy environment. We will remain diligent in our communication efforts with the Commissioner, and will provide updates as they are available.

We eagerly await the day we can "return to normal" and kick off our golf season! Until then, please continue to stay safe, abide by the guidelines, and enjoy time with family.

Best regards,
Jeff Adkerson, PGA
Executive Director
