A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, Drive, Chip & Putt is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.
By tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys ages 7-15, Drive, Chip & Putt provides aspiring junior golfers an opportunity to play with their peers in qualifiers around the country. This free youth golf development initiative welcomes boys and girls ages 7-15 to participate in separate divisions in four age categories. Local qualifying will take place throughout all 50 states during the months of May, June, July and August. Participants who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category earn a place in the National Finals, which is conducted at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and is broadcast live by Golf Channel.

2024 Eligibility
Drive, Chip and Putt is open to boys and girls ages 7-15. Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions in four age categories: 7-9 years old; 10-11 years old; 12-13 years old; and 14-15 years old.
Participants will be grouped based on their age as of the National Finals on Sunday, April, 6, 2025.
Participants must be at least 7 years of age on Sunday, April 6, 2025, and may not be older than 15 years of age on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Please note: a player may participate in local, subregional and regional qualifying if he/she is 6 years old provided that he/she turn 7 years old on or before April 7, 2024. A 15 year old who will turn 16 years of age on or before April 6, 2025, is not eligible to participate.
All participants will be expected to show proof of age should they advance to subregional qualifying. Failure to provide a birth certificate or proper form of age verification for the subregional qualifier will result in that participant being ineligible to compete.
Participants may register to compete in only one local competition. Competing in more than one local competition will result in the automatic disqualification of that participant.
The guardian or parent, via online signature at registration, agrees to submit a release of liability, which is required prior to participation.
All competitors must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. Participation in Drive, Chip & Putt will in no way affect a competitor’s amateur status.
The player’s clubs and golf balls must conform with the Rules of Golf and the provisions, specifications and interpretations set forth in Appendices II (for golf clubs) and III (for golf balls). The optional Conditions of Competition requiring that the driver the player carries is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads, the ball the player plays is named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls, and the player's clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect. However, new models of irons, wedges, hybrids and fairway woods manufactured on or after January 1, 2010 must conform to the current groove and punch mark specifications.
2024 Entries
Parents/guardians are required to complete the entry form on behalf of participants. All entry applications must be submitted online at the Drive, Chip and Putt website. Entries by telephone, mail or facsimile will not be accepted.
Only one entry may be filed by a parent/guardian per participant. Officials reserve the right to disqualify any player if more than one entry is submitted for that player.
Local qualifying sites will target a total of 200 participants accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The Drive Chip and Putt Executive Committee reserves the right to adjust the total number of registrants per site.
Should a player advance through local qualifying, the subregional and regional qualifying sites will be pre-determined based upon the local qualifying site. The player is not guaranteed participation in the subregional qualifier unless he/she advances through local qualifying. The player is not guaranteed participation in the regional qualifier unless he/she advances through local and subregional qualifying.
Entry applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. EDT on the date five (5) days prior to the local qualifier.
Late applications will be automatically rejected.
The time limit for entries means time of receipt to the Drive, Chip and Putt website, not the time entry is transmitted to website. Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the Drive, Chip and Putt website will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.
A parent/guardian wishing to change a qualifying site/date or withdraw from a qualifier should login to his or her account at www.drivechipandputt.com. If you are unable to make the necessary changes, please contact info@drivechipandputt.com.
There is no entry fee for Drive, Chip and Putt.
2024 Schedule of Competition
Drive, Chip and Putt will be conducted in four stages:
Local qualifying:
To be conducted throughout May, June, July and August in all 50 states.
Subregional qualifying:
To be conducted throughout July and August at select sites.
Regional qualifying:
To be conducted throughout September at a limited number of sites.
National Finals:
To be conducted Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA.
From each local qualifier, the top three overall point earners in each of the boys and girls divisions from the four age brackets will advance to the subregional qualifying level of the competition. Players who qualify for a subregional competition must compete at the location in which they are assigned.
The subregional competition is a new round of the competition with no carryover from the local competition.
From each subregional qualifier, the top two overall point earners in each of the boys and girls divisions from the four age brackets will advance to the regional qualifying level of the competition. Players who qualify for a regional competition must compete at the location at which they are assigned.
The regional competition is a new round of the competition with no carryover from the subregional competition.
From each regional qualifier, the overall champion in each of the boys and girls divisions from the four age categories will advance to the finals to be held the Sunday before the Masters Tournament (April 6, 2025).

SCORING / COMPETING
Each participant will compete in all three skills (Drive, Chip and Putt). An individual rules sheet for each skill competition is available on the championship website, https://www.drivechipandputt.com/rules
All participants must begin the competition at the local qualifying level.
All championship scoring will be based on a 25-point-per-shot basis, with each participant taking three shots per skill. Each participant will accumulate points per shot in all three skills (maximum of 75 points per skill = 25 points per shot x 3). The overall champion in each age category will be determined by the participant with the most points accumulated between all three skills (maximum of 225 points = 75 points per skill x 3). From local qualifying, the three overall point earners in each of the boys and girls divisions from the four age brackets will advance to the sub-regional qualifying level of the competition.
Driving Challenge:
40-yard wide fairway - a shot must finish in the fairway to score points.
Flags marking both sides of the fairway at 25-yard increments.
A ball coming to rest on any of the boundary lines is considered in bounds.
A ball coming to rest on any of the scoring lines will be scored in the longer of the two scoring grids.
In the event of a tie the contestant's third drive will serve as a tie breaker (followed by second and first if necessary). If a tie still exists, co - champions of the skill will be declared.
Chipping Challenge:
Each participant will attempt three 10-15 yard shots at the scoring hole. All shots will be measured from the center of the hole with clearly marked scoring rings.
A ball coming to rest on any of the scoring lines will be scored in the higher of the two point rings.
In the event of a tie the contestant’s third chip will serve as a tie breaker (followed by second and first if necessary). If a tie still exists co-champions of the skill will be declared.
Putting Challenge:
Each participant will attempt one putt from each distance (6 feet, 15 feet and 30 feet). Putts will be measured from the center of the hole with clearly marked scoring rings.
A ball coming to rest on any of the scoring lines will be scored in the higher of the two point rings.
In the event of a tie the contestant’s third putt will serve as a tie breaker (followed by second and first if necessary). If a tie still exists co-champions of the skill will be declared.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a fee to participate in Drive, Chip and Putt?
There is no entry fee for any qualifying levels of Drive, Chip and Putt.
Is it too late to register for a local qualifier?

I did not receive a confirmation email. How do I know if my youth is successfully registered?
Please email us at info@drivechipandputt.com and we will confirm your email address and send a confirmation email.
Can I register my youth at more than one qualifier?
You may not submit more than one application for any individual to participate in Drive, Chip and Putt. If more than one application is submitted for a participant, all applications will be rejected.
Is my youth in the correct age bracket?
The age bracket is based upon the participant age as of the date of the national finals (April 7, 2024). Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions in four age categories: 7-9 years old; 10-11 years old; 12-13 years old; and 14-15 years old.
I made a mistake during registration. How do I make changes to registration information?
Please login to your account at www.drivechipandputt.com to make a change to the registration information. If you are unable to make the necessary changes, email us at info@drivechipandputt.com. Please do not register your participant again as that will result in a duplicate registration.
I need to change my qualifying path.
The parent/guardian should login to his or her account at www.drivechipandputt.com. The path for qualifying is pre-determined based on math, which is done to maintain equal numbers of participants in the subregional and regional stages. Thus, your youth would have to participate in the corresponding pre-assigned subregional and regional events should he/she advance. If you want your youth to attend an alternate subregional qualifier, you would need to select a local qualifying site accordingly before participating. Please email info@drivechipandputt.com if you are unable to make the changes within your account.
Is there a wait list?
We do not maintain a wait list for local qualifying sites.
I did not register my youth in advance. Can we show up to a Drive, Chip and Putt qualifier?
On-site registration is not permitted.
My youth is unable to attend his scheduled qualifier. What do I do?
Please email info@drivechipandputt.com and we will update the registration system, which might give another youth the opportunity to participate.
What is my youth’s tee time for his/her qualifier?
Scheduling information and tee times are provided closer to the date of the qualifier (usually three to five days in advance). You will be contacted via the email address provided at registration with scheduling information. To confirm your email address provided at registration, please email info@drivechipandputt.com.
Can my youth use a caddie?
Caddies are not permitted at any of the qualifying stages. Only the participants will be allowed on the fields of play.
Can my youth use his/her own golf balls?
Participants may choose to use their own golf balls. Please note, the golf balls can only be retrieved on the Chip and Putt skills. If a participant chooses to use his/her own golf balls on the Drive skill, the balls cannot be retrieved.
My youth does not have golf clubs.
The host site may have equipment and golf balls available for kids of all ages. It is recommended that you contact the facility prior to the qualifier to ensure availability.
